Do you collect them?

I know the question sounds funny but I know a lot of people who started getting into relationships as early as 11 years old. *cough* So naturally, as kids, we're prone to give our significant other some sort of gift. From the most mundane of letters to huge, human-sized stuffed teddy bears. Do you collect gifts from ex's? Or do you throw them away after the relationship becomes stale?

I once had a collection of stuffed animals from manliligaws and boyfriends. LOL but since we move from house to house, I lost them. XD

I still have the letters of my ex's hanggang sa present boyfriend ko. Super haba pa nga nila eh. Maaga ako nagka-boyfriend (kase maaga din yung puberty ko). Tapos yung mga stuff toys din nakatago.

Actually super dami kong letters kung isasama din yung girlfriends (well, I was a butch).

Ako naman, yung mga binigay ko sa lahat ng mga ex ko (bfs and gfs), mga super haba na letters din na may artwork. Marami din akong pinagbigyan ng stufftoys and pillows. =)

well, i've never had an ex before... but i did have manliligaws (what exactly is the english term for this? prospects? lol~) yes, i've kept what they've given me. they're more of a reminder of the good times we've had, never as some sort of tally sheet of what has been. >_<

most of the stuff i've kept are still in the philippines... but i've brought some over here too. lol. XD

i was lucky enough to get clothes XD and other nicknacks XD wait ex's? would mommies be considered? o_____O

current ex gave me a watch from Disney land. A silver Mickey Mouse watch.

Do you keep it? or do you still wear it?

I have it tucked away in one of my drawers. I do wear it on formal occasions and such and yes, I promised to keep it. If you ask me why, the answer I'll give is that I value things even if it has bitter memories.

Me too... I actually don't erase or throw away ex pictures. (unsure) It's not because I still cherish the memories but they are what they are... memories. And they remind me of how much I've grown and how much I've moved on. I'm lucky to have a boyfriend who understands that.

Personally, I don't mind it if the boyfriend has things that his ex gave him as long as I'm not with him when he's using it or it's out of my sight. I need a little more maturity to be able to handle my boyfriend using his ex's shirts or heart-shaped pillows she gave him. LOL Same goes for me though, I keep the stuff the ex gave me but I'm going to make sure the boyfriend is not bombarded with images of it every 5 seconds. XD

A question to everyone: What if your current partner insists that you throw away stuff that your ex gave you? Would you do it?

LOL Yeah, I kept the stuff my ex gave me before. I think I still have the birthday cards, the letters and even the ugly-ass teddy bear he gave me. It's gathering dust in the toyshelf, along with other stuffed animals and pillows from other dudes. XD I lost a silver ring and the heart necklace though, I don't know how. o__O Sayang, ganda pa naman nun hahahaha.

I have letters from manliligaws, save for a few that I burned because I was really disgusted (I was 14 when a 29 year old dude wrote me love letters. Yes they were for me. Kakilala ng isang malayong relative na nakitulog sa amin once.) Oh yeah, and I have dried Valentine's Day flowers too, somewhere around here.

True, Miwako. They are memories. They may not necessarily good memories, or sentimental ones, but they're still memories. They're still part of you and they somehow symbolize the things that made you who you are today.

I don't think I'd mind if my partner wore clothes he got from his ex. I mean...they're clothes, come on. He wore a jacket from his ex once, and it didn't really affect me. And hey, he looked good in it, so it's still a win.XD Photos are fine as well, as long as he doesn't keep it in his wallet or something. Jewelry, however, might be a different story. I think they're more sentimental and hold more meaning. I don't think I'd like what that meaning is. (annoyed)


I don't think so. He just has to trust my judgment and my reasons for keeping these things.

LOL!! Clothes that originally belonged to their ex's... I don't want to see my boyfriend wearing something that personal. (and with the body my boyfriend has, he can wear his ex-girlfriend's shirt LOL) But if it's bought out of a store, I will have no problems with that since my ex also gave a whole lot of clothes to me. O__O (and shoes, and shorts, and skirts and bikinis) -_____- It's inevitable to own clothes an ex gave you especially when your ex is the type to believe that money can save relationships.

Clothes given to me as a gift, well, some are still here. tucked in the deepest part of my closet. I dont use them anymore.

Meron din akong jerseys, basketball shorts saka t-shirts that were owned by some of them.. minsan kpag wala ng pambahay, nagagamit ko.. pero minsan lang. mehehehe.

Sakin naman, yung mga letters, tinapon ko na, isang buong paper bag ng havaianas worth of letters and stuff, sa 2nd girlfriend ko.

Tama nga naman yung mga sinasabi niyo na mga alaala pa nga talaga sila, yun yung humubog sa pagkatao natin ngayon, dun tayo natuto. Ang sakin lang kaya ko siya tinatapon o tinatanggal sa alaala ko eh kasi di nanaman na mawawala sa isip natin yung laman ng mga sulat, yung itsura nung mga bagay na binigay satin ng mga nakaraan na ka-relasyon natin. (Para sakin) Kaya d ko na kailangan yung material form ng mga alaala na yun. xD

Yung t-shirt, naman love, di niya nagamit, parang nangyari, binili niya, tapos binigay sakin. xD pero kahit na~ susunugin natin yun ha!! (devil) sa ngayon ang natitira na lang eh yung cellphone na binili ko sa 2nd girlfriend ko, kasi ibebenta niya dapat sa iba, eh ayaw niya mawala lahat ng pics, quotes, ayun pero dinelete ko na din lahat ng laman nun (LOL) saka yung wallet na binigay niya sakin ng pasko. yun lang! xD

Kung papatapon sakin yung mga bagay na bigay ng ex ko, walang problema, gagawin ko.. kasi nga wala naman na sakin kung ano pa mangyari dun, di din naman sa bitter ako o ano syempre di naman maiiwasan na makaramdam ng pagkailang kung makikita ng kasalukuyang ka-relasyon mo na may mga ganung bagay bagay ka pa.

Kung para sakin naman talaga tulad ng damit na binili para sakin, susuotin ko pa din, pero damit lang siya, wala nang iba.

ahh ala nman ako damit ng ex...pero meron ako damit ng ibang babae.....di k p lng binabalek...DI AKO LETRANISTA!!!! LOL

I read this portion before sa Seventeen magazine, mga couples na nag sshare sa isang piece of clothing. meron sa shoes/slippers, meron sa jeans or shirts. or belt. awwwwwwww.... wala lng hangkyot.
