Rock on!

1. I started liking rock music when I was 5 years old. I heard this song that goes "And i say, hey, yeah, heh, heheh... Hey, yeah, yeah. I said hey! What's goin' on?" (Dada suddenly remembered something) Ayun! 'What's goin' on' by 4 none blondes. I used to hear this a lot on the radio, kasabay nung "Always, I wanna be with you, and make believe with you..." Hehehe.

2. Basically, I like alternative music because it's a mixture of all the kinds of rock music. Pwede siya i-categorize sa kahit anung genre ng rock. Next to alternative, I like metal because I like banging my head... on the wall, joke! Hehehe. Then another guilty pleasure of mine is punk music because of PARAMORE!
Yes! I am an avid fan! I'm a Para-whore! I always sing Paramore songs on my gigs.

3. I wrote a lot of songs already but I'm too shy to show it off. Mas muka pa siyang tula kesa song. Chaka na siguro.

4. I have a Rockstar rhythm guitar and a Washburn XB100 series bass guitar. Nagyabang nako sa ibang thread bout my Washburn. Di ko nalang uulitin dito. Haha!

5. Yung sa The Fort this coming December, di ko sure kung when. We're gonna cover Paramore songs and a few originals. Kasabay rin ata namin yung Amity Circle (yung mga friends ni Obie na pinakilala niya sakin nung birthday celeb niya).

6. Dati akala ko ako lang may kilala ng Paramore. Pero mula nung lumabas yung That's what you get, biglang marami nang may kilala sa kanila. Lalu na ngayon dahil sila OST sa Twilight.

What about you guys?

1.
I've enjoyed rock ever since I was a kid. I was fortunate enough, like all of us, to grow up in the 90's. A time when grunge ruled the States and bands exploded in the Philippines. My earliest memories of rock music were listening to-of course-the Eheads, Rivermaya, The Cranberries, Smashing Pumpkins and the like. Mostly were mainstream acts and back then I spurned metal, frequently calling it Devil Music. Funny how things change so much.

Right now I honestly listen the a wide array of rock music. From metal to alternative to emo to goth, although I am leaning more metal and alternative but I never close my mind to anything new

I have a Morris E-12 Acoustic guitar. It was passed on to me from my uncle Hahahaha parang family heirloom lang. Sad thing though is that I haven't really used it as much as I should

I'm hoping to go to the Dec 10 Wolfgang gig in, praying that there are still tickets. WHooooooo! Basti!

Early college days. I saw the movie School of Rock, and it inspired me to write a story about a rock band. I had to do research on rock music for that particular project, and ever since then, I was hooked.

2. What kind of rock music do you like most? Indie, metal, hardcore, emo, alternative, punk, goth or electronic?
Alternativemelodies, punk, and some metal [with minimal growling XD]. I liked the first few emo bands that surfaced, but the new ones are just plain annoying.

Biggest concerts I've been to were My Chemical Romance and Panic at the Disco. What I hate in big concerts like that? The crowd. After shelling out thousands of pesos to see a band, you'd think they'd show more enthusiasm, but noooooo.

Local bands I've seen live, Parokya ni Edgar, Silent Sanctuary, Kjwan, Spongecola and Stonefree.

6. Who are the bands that you think only YOU know?
Err. Publico and Pandademic. LOL bands of friends of mine. Publico sounds like your average OPM band. Pandademic is a mix of punk, funk, pop and electronica. I dunno if anyone here knows this band, Lordi. Hahaha I love their Monsterman song.

Oh yeah, and I've been listening to My American Heart. Ironically, one of their members is Pinoy.

1. How and when did you start liking rock music? Who/what were your musical influences?

- like Obie, I got exposed with rock music in the early 90s thanks to my brother who's a the Cure fan and in mid-90s during the height of grunge music. Musical influences? Foreign would be Nirvana (Cobain shall live on forever -1994), Pearl Jam (back when they were still awesome), and so on. As for the local bands, I really admire the Dawn, Wolfgang and Razorback. These guys set a trend in where the musician nowadays can only par to their music before.

2. What kind of rock music do you like most? Indie, metal, hardcore, emo, alternative, punk, goth or electronic?

- like I've said, I dig grunge music the most but I do listen to metalcore and alternative and punk like Blink 182 or Sum 41, although I'm okay with anything rock as long as it's good.

- gigs that I've been to? I've watched my friends' band (Room 69 to Valentines' Day Massacre) perform at Mayric's since highschool until now. Concerts? It's PULP Summer Slam of course.

6. Who are the bands that you think only YOU know?

- friends' band, My Valentines' Day Massacre. If it's a band that I think that I only listen to then it's gotta be Ramstein, local would be Skychurch.
