I'm not so sure if this topic qualifies for a new thread. (Should this be under "I wanna cosplay as..."?)

Anyway.

Question: What do you think of cosplayers changing the gender of a character? A female version of Edward Elric, perhaps? Or a male version of Nina Williams? (Ok that was random) Well, I'm sure you get what I mean.

I just got curious... Because seriously, I suddenly had the urge to cosplay a female version of Vincent Valentine... 0_o (God, help!! Must shake this off. HAHAHA)

i don't see any problem with crossplaying or dressing up as the counterpart of a certain character. some people might consider it as bastardizing the character in question, but i think it should be all in the spirit of having fun and being creative. plus points if they pull it off well. ^^

ok lang naman pag crossplay. basta wag papakita sakin lalo na yung mga lalake na nagpapanggap na lalake na obyus naman na lalake sila. hahaha! EYESORE!

I generally don't like crossplay because most crossplays I see or have seen have had damaging effects on my psyche. Almost every time I see these kinds of cosplays they either give me the shock of my life (Lalaki yun?? Ay pota!) or make my skin crawl,case and point(open if you dare)

But I think you doing a Vincent Valentine cosplay would be fine. I think bagay naman sayo yung dark mysterious look.

I firmly believe that (for the most part) it's all about execution. Some ideas though, I think they're out there, are never meant to see the light of day. So if you can make the character work for you, then by all means go. However, it is difficult for many people to accomplish. But I have faith in you so go ahead~ It's just a trip.

I mean, what I intend to do is to cosplay a female Vincent Valentine... Vincenta Valentina, if you may, (shoot that name's just horrible, I'm sorry LOL) just so we're on the same boat hahaha XD Like, a female character, whose costume is based on Vincent's look. I may use his cape and claw, but I'd modify his black suit and make it a skirt or something. Basta, pambabae. Got it? Ahaha XD

Oh yeah, is that called crossplaying, still? XD

I may think of other *normal* cosplays, but Vincenta Valentina (ok! sorry! that's just to annoy you haha!) is on top of my list. XD

My sentiment remains unchanged. Your design looks okay though. I'm a little worried on the execution of the tattered cape without making it look... bad. Beyond that, I think the outfit you designed looks easy enough to pull off without denting that big a hole in the ol' wallet.

I hope you do the claw well as it's one of Vincent(a)'s most distinguishing traits. XD

I don't like male crossplayers unless they look funny to me. I LIKE female crossplayers, duno y but i'm a big fan of them. Maybe bcoz of the fact that i'm attracted to beautiful tomboy or boyish girls with a svelte body.
